Located in the northeastern part of Italy and on the northwestern end of the Adriatic Sea, Venice (Venezia), capital of the province of Venezia and the region of Veneto, is an island city situated across a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by 400 bridges. It is an urban network formed by more than 200 original canals that are linked together on either side of the S-shaped Grand Canal. Venice lies in a 32 miles long Lagoon and is recognized as part of the architectural and artistic patrimony of all humanity, a UNESCO heritage Site. It is one of the world’s oldest tourist and cultural centers. Its framework of canals and narrow streets has prevented the intrusion of automobiles.

Venice is a great tourist destination for its celebrated art and architecture. In 2017, the number of tourists reached 60,000 per day and the annual estimate was between 22 million and 30 million. The ancient Carnival has been revived in the early 1980s and the Venice International Film Festival, part of the Biennale which an international gathering held every other year that includes art, architecture, film, dance, music, and theatre festivals, is held in the Lido every September. Films are shown throughout the city, attracting thousands of actors, critics, and other members of the motion picture industry.

The best-known form of transport that we can see on the waterways of Venice is called Gondola. Outnumbered today by other types of vessels, there are only a few hundred of those elegant boats that constitute a symbol of Venice. Any person who visits Venice will remember the romance of the Gondolas.

Filled with a large variety of boats, the canals of Venice build a colorful water scene of public water buses, vegetables and fruits carrying boats, ambulance and police boats, tourist boats, garbage transport boats etc. Free of automobiles that are banned from the city, Venice is a walking place. Any point can be reached by walking.

Make your 6+ Group, especially of loving couples, and you will experience the romance and the charm of the Gondolas and the great moments of walking and dining in this incomparable city!
