haitiCome experience the contrasts of beauty! Visit the charms of the Country of Haiti! Just choose it yourself or see our offers!

Haiti is the land of history and magic! This country, whose name came from the Taino Indians and means “Mountainous Land”, is rich in underground caves, waterfalls, natural beaches, gastronomy, culture and historic patrimonies. Haiti used to have its history alone as an attraction which raised curiosity of many tourists. It is the most mountainous land in the Caribbean and the second longest coastline of beaches. The Haitian Carnival is one of the most popular in the Caribbean. It usually takes place in Port-au-Prince or in one of the largest cities like Cap-Haitien, Cayes, Gonaives. As well, the very popular Carnival of Jacmel which takes place one week earlier is probably the most colorful and culturally the richest in the region. On top of that, we must not forget the famous patronal celebration (fèt chanpèt) of Jacmel, Petit-Goave, Les Cayes, Limonade, Marchand Dessalines etc.
The most common style of the Haitian fellow is a “smile” and the phrase “Pa gen pwoblèm”, which means “No problem!” The Haitian shows a strong ability to live humble despite the political and natural hardships he is continually experiencing. And it is maybe important to outline that despite the bad reputation the international press gives to this country and which would make the hesitant tourist worry about visiting it, Haiti is from far less violent than many other countries in the Caribbean where the tourism industry is however flourishing.
The Haitian cuisine is amazingly tasty, a mix of rice and bean sauce “diri ak sòs pwa” or rice with mushroom “diri djondjon”, with some fried or stewed meat, some fried or boiled plantain and a small serve of pikliz, called by analogy with the “pickles” but which is way more delicious. They also have simply the best rum and beer of the region (Barbancourt and Prestige).
